Clinton E. Dye, III


Mr. Dye is an accomplished real estate and business lawyer with extensive and varied experience.  He has over eleven years' experience in transactional law, with an emphasis on commercial real estate transactions representing owners and developers in the acquisition and development of multi-family, office, retail, hospitality and mixed use properties. A particular focus of his practice has been the negotiation and drafting of lease and sublease agreements for retail, industrial and office premises in single and multi-tenant properties (landlord and tenant representation). Mr. Dye also has extensive experience representing lenders and borrowers in complex commercial lending transactions.

Prior to co-founding Dye Snyder, LLP, Mr. Dye spent two years practicing with a large regional law firm, and spent eight years practicing with a large international law firm. In addition, he clerked for the Hon. Clarence Cooper of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Mr. Dye is married and has two children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading and sports.


Selected Experience
  • Represented a local owner/investor in the acquisition, development and sale of mixed use properties in the Midtown and Buckhead areas of Atlanta.
  • Represented a local credit union in its expansion of branch locations in the metropolitan Atlanta area.
  • Represented supermarket operator in the sale of a portfolio of more than 100 grocery stores located in Georgia, Florida and Alabama.
  • Represented a national portfolio lender in real estate finance transactions (loan amounts ranging from $30,000,000 to $300,000,000) involving improved and unimproved real estate collateral in single and multi-state transactions.
  • Represented landlords and tenant in the negotiation of retail and industrial leases and subleases in single and multi-tenant properties throughout the country.
  • Contract negotiation, documentation and due diligence with respect to transfer of title to real property and assignment of leases in connection with corporate mergers and acquisitions.
  • Represented a national commercial bank in preparing and negotiating real estate collateral documents including fee simple and leasehold mortgages, landlord waivers, subordination agreements and nondisturbance agreements concerning real estate collateral in single and multi-state transactions.
  • Represented investors and developers in connection with various land use issues, including rezoning and subdivision.
